Teeming with Life
Our garden that is.  And not just with weeds, although there are plenty of those too.  There are so many lovely things growing, things I didn’t even remember were there in the fall. It is pretty exciting to watch something that I was sure was dead, come back to life as the season changes. What a great metaphor for our lives. Anyway, we have planted lots of new things, edible things in...

Speaking of Hair
I have to say that one of my proudest “acomplishments” as a mom is that I cut everyone’s hair in the house except my own. If we had any pets I would probably do them too. I feel a great sense of usefulness and frugality every time I pick up the clippers. In my estimation, we are saving at least $350 a year by making everyone go to Mom’s Salon.  And that is if Chad continued...

I love getting my hair cut
I do. Even if it’s just a trim. But something new is even better. I have had many hairstyles over the last decade, some good and some less than good. Luckily, my hair grows pretty fast. So here is the latest installment. I have been growing my hair out lately. Sort of at Chad’s request. But I needed something to change it up a little bit.

Warning: Massive blog update ahead
It has been a long time since I posted anything and wiser people probably would have just let it go. But not me. Instead I have spent several hours entering some of the things I have wanted to write over the last month. Not because they were can’t miss events, more for posterity and to prove to myself that we do have a life. I had initially planned to change all of the dates to reflect when...

Easter Eggs
Does anyone know a significance that can be attached to dying Easter eggs, ‘cause I like it. I did it most years growing up and so I guess it’s my thing.  A hard boiled egg tastes so much better when it’s blue, or purple, or orange for that matter. The kids liked it too. There were almost a couple of disasters with the flimsy cups but overall a success.

Easter Waffles
After dying eggs, I wondered what else would look good with some spring color. Chad and I have been talking about what holiday traditions we could start. Could Easter Waffles be it? I’m not convinced. FYI, I think the massive amounts of food coloring in this feast for the eyes may have caused some gastrointestinal distress in the kids, READ green and semi runny. Maybe next year we will try...

Free Ice Cream: For the Price of Admission
While visiting the grandparents we did a couple of activities. A trip to Brenham for Cici’s pizza and Blue Bell ice cream. That’s a long way to drive for lunch you say? Well, we did also tour the Blue Bell factory and get a “free” cup at the end. Maddy (the kids’ grandma) and I took the boys to Inflatable Zone… twice.  I must say, I really like to slide.

I Wish I Could. . .
tape my children’s mouths closed sometimes. For the record, Carter did this to himself.

Louisiana
We took a much over due road trip to Mandeville to visit Dave and Sarah (Chad’s brother and his wife). It was lots of fun. Except for the part about sitting in the room with the boys for an hour each night to keep them quiet enough to fall asleep. I decided we will definitely wait to put them in the same room. It was a good practice run though. We visited a fun children’s museum in New...

A Morning at the Arboretum
Thank you to our friends Kelly and Grant for letting us in on their season pass. We had a good time, even though it was a little cold.
