“Poo poo, pee pee, papa.” The kids have been chanting this lately, and frankly I’m honored to be mentioned in such esteemed company.
Dirk’s biggest mistake last night, not kissing wade/bosh/James on the mouth.

here’s a little ditty i did recently for the fish.
well, we’ve been pretty bad about blogging lately, but we’re gonna try to get this thing going again. in an act of brutal self-flagellation, i will now punish myself for our blogging truancy by posting a short film i made in college. i know the guys who were in it will get a kick out of it, but everyone else, please do not watch it. ever. thank you.

Hello Abandoned Blog
Not that anyone will notice but I am wondering if you are feeling a bit left out. And the question that always bothers me, do I go back and catch up or continue forward like nothing ever happened? Will there be a big hole never to be filled? I’m still pondering the answer.

A Day of Culture
We joined some of our friends from MOPS for a fun outing this morning. After making everyone miss the train because I couldn’t find the station and sweating on the platform for 20 or 30 minutes, we were off to downtown. We had a yummy lunch, took in the Dallas Museum of Art and another train ride. The day was lots of fun. But, I have to be honest, any place where the only two rules are:...
Can I Freeze Eggs?
That is what I googled this morning after I found several frozen eggs in the carton. Apparently the way back of my fridge gets really cold. I went to crack one and it was frozen solid inside. The next one was already cracked from expansion and I had to run it under water to get the shell to come off. They took a little while to thaw in the bowl so that I could scramble them but all in all they...
Happy 4th of July
We had a fun filled family weekend that included our AC breaking on Friday afternoon. It’s still not working on the bedroom side of the house. Before you get too worried, we are surviving and finding ways to stay cool. Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon. Anyway, amidst all of our celebrating, we discussed the significance of the day and the kid’s responses were surprising.
Couch Potato
Usually when watching a video, the kids go practically comatose, melting into the sofa cushions and only blinking when the end credits start rolling. But this is kind of a new TV watching position.
Down for the count
Last week was so busy. For some people that is normal. Not for us. We’re pretty laid back and go with the flow. That is all code, of course, for “we’re pretty boring”. But last week we had VBS every day, two evening social gatherings, I had to work twice and Chad had a free lance job on the weekend. We were all pretty pooped by weeks end. To top it off, Carter was too...

Kids do weird things: Part II
Usually the kids like to take the plastic dishes out and stack them up, or fill them with things, pretend they are cars or just toss them all around the kitchen then run off and leave a mess behind. Not this day. Instead Hudson was walking around like this.
Happy Father's Day
I know, I know, that was a week ago. But I figure it is never too late. We had a great family day going to church, playing in the yard, grilling and eating home made cheese cake icecream. Yummy! ( I have the recipe if you are interested) I am so thankful for Chad and the wonderful father and husband he is.
Chad, if I had known way back then how perfect we would be for each other, I would never...
After The Storm
Several weeks ago, there were some tornados that touched down in the metroplex. I have never been very concerned about tornados. Growing up in California, earthquakes were the real deal. We had earthquake drills at school, I lived only hours away from LA when it had crumbled to the ground and I have been through many of them. To me, earthquakes were scary. But this time was different. We watched...
giving advice to dr.phil
the dr. phil show contacted bluefish recently and asked to put a clip i did years ago on their new blog.
the clip is called famous failures. check it out, on the right side of the screen: http://blog.drphil.com/
and yes, i will now be telling people that i’ve given dr. phil advice.
boys' playlist
a while back i posted a sampling of carter’s favorite tunes. here are the boys latest tastes (in addition to the usual kid’s stuff that they listen to…and i don’t necessarily vouch for any of the music videos, just a place where you can hear the song):
death and all his friends/fix you/life in technicolor - coldplay - the boys will listen to anything coldplay, but they...
